Founded in 1991 by Tom Mount, a pioneer of technical diving, IANTD is the world's first training organization specializing in technical diving training. At Tom's insistence, IANTD prioritizes teaching quality over the number of certified students. Therefore, our requirements for technical diving instructors are the highest standards in diving knowledge, skills, teaching quality, and underwater experience. At Dark Tide, we aim to cultivate technical diving instructors who are passionate about pursuing advanced diving skills and knowledge, and who steadily progress towards higher levels of expertise.
